I know I can't talk enough about attic ventilation it is one of the most misunderstood things when it comes to roofing, many roofers want to do the job right however this area of attic ventilation is almost never right from older homes to new homes built this year. Here at All Sound Roofing, Inc. are the ones getting it right from the initial estimate we point out what's wrong and when we come back we have solutions, rock solid ones at that! Our products are all Miami-Dade Approved so you will be sure to be dry for many years to come, we have many options for what your home would require and they have proven track records with in the roofing industry to meet the required ventilation standards that ARMA, APA and building codes require.
Having vents installed along the bottom eaves of your home is the most wrong way of achieving a balanced ventilation system, these are designed to be exhaust vents not intake.
Improper attic ventilation can be very costly sometimes it can require that new 30yr shingle to not last much more than 10 years and we understand that here at All Sound Roofing, Inc. because
we have replaced a lot of roof sheathing due to improper attic ventilation.
Mold & Mildew love moisture and can effect your family's health and air quality inside your home. Attic Ventilation plays a huge role as well in your utility bills such as heating and cooling costs a healthy attic should be cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Some of the things that I look for when someone thinks they need to replace their roof is first "How old is it?" most people replace their roof every 17.5 years on average, then I start looking at the shingles themselves, "Are they curling?" "Is there a good amount of fiber glass showing?" or "Bare asphalt?".
Attic inspection is always a good place to look as well, usually when I go into an attic I first lookup to see if vent holes have even been cut open for the roof vents, you would be surprised at the stuff I see, I look for blackened or moldy plywood and blockage of intake vents we don't do insulation but if it really needs it I have a specialty contractor that I refer that out to.
This is some water staining. Rake metal is a very important part of a roof system.
Ice & Water shield is also very important
I alway recommend tearing off the old roof and inspecting for bad plywood, it is very important that we have a solid foundation for installing a new roof, did you know a "Lay over" may only last as little as... Lets not go there a complete tear off is always best it may seem to be a cheaper option however it will cost much more in the long run.
